Mistrial declared in Lindsay Clancy triple murder trial

PLYMOUTH, Mass. — A judge has declared a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial because the 12 jurors could not come to a consensus on a verdict.
The Duxbury mom has been on trial for weeks, accused of murdering her three children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, in January 2023.
Clancy didn’t dispute killing her children and instead argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and couldn’t be held criminally responsible.
Her case came down to whether, despite the mental disease or defect both sides conceded she had at the time, Clancy was capable of telling the difference between right and wrong and comporting her behavior to the law during the killings.
It is not yet clear whether the Plymouth County district attorney’s office will choose to try Clancy again.
