Motown legend Smokey Robinson filed a $500 million counter-complaint against four former employees who accused him of sexual assault earlier this month.

The singer and his wife, Frances Robinson, were sued by four former housekeepers who alleged sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, gender violence and creating a hostile work environment.

They accused Robinson of isolating them in his San Fernando Valley and Las Vegas homes before assaulting them on numerous occasions. Two of the unidentified women said they were raped at least 20 times over a period of several years.

Frances Robinson was accused of knowing about her husband’s abuse and failing to prevent it.

Each woman claimed to have not reported the abuse out of fear of losing their jobs or other retribution.

The Jane Does were seeking a trial and at least $50 million in damages.

A lawyer for Robinson denied the “vile” and “false” accusations, but the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau opened a criminal investigation into the matter.

The counter lawsuit from Robinson and his wife accuses the Jane Does and their attorneys of slander, intentional infliction of emotional distress and financial elder abuse, according to Variety.

The lawsuit describes the accusers’ allegations as “fabricated” as part of a “scheme” to extort the Robinsons.

“The Robinsons did not abuse, harm or take advantage of Plaintiffs; they treated Plaintiffs with the utmost kindness and generosity,” the lawsuit reads, describing how the couple vacationed with the Jane Does, celebrated holidays with him and offered them financial assistance when needed.

The suit claims the women never brought up their concerns, with one even leaving the job and later returning. It also suggests the Jane Does may have been behind the theft of financial records and gold coins belonging to the couple.
