Orlando Bloom looks toward 'new beginning' amid Katy Perry split
Published in Entertainment News
Orlando Bloom seems ready to move on from his nearly decade-long relationship with Katy Perry as he looks toward “new beginnings,” after he was spotted in Venice with newly single Sydney Sweeney.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” alum, 48, shared multiple inspirational quotes Monday to his since-expired (or deleted) Instagram story, according to multiple outlets.
“Each day is a new beginning. what we do today is what matters most,” read one of the @taomeditations posts Bloom shared, which cited Gautama Buddha.
Bloom may have provided some insight into who pulled the plug on the engagement when he shared Daily Encouragement by Daisaku Ikeda.
“The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next.”
Bloom’s posts come on the heels of his outing with the “Euphoria” star, 27, after the end of her own engagement to 42-year-old producer Jonathan Davino. Both the “Lord of the Rings” star and Sweeney were in town for Jeff Bezos’ star-studded Venetian nuptials, and were subsequently photographed strolling in the Italian city, albeit with Tom Brady in tow.
Sources told Us Weekly earlier this month that Bloom and 40-year-old Perry, who are parents to 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove, might have “permanently split,” though they’d parted ways “a few times” since they first started seeing each other in early 2016. They split the following year and reconciled in early 2018, getting engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019.
An insider confirmed to the outlet this past week that they’d “split but are amicable.
“It’s not contentious at the moment,” said the source. “Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce.”
