New on DVD: Team up with Marvel's newest misfits in 'Thunderbolts*'

The final film in Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe the tops the DVD releases for the week of July 29.
"Thunderbolts*": A group of MCU oddballs band together to form a team — one could even say they assemble. Starring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour and Wyatt Russell.
"As cheeky as our MCU heroes can be, there’s always an inherent earnestness at play, and that is the source of the tonal wobble that bedevils the otherwise strong 'Thunderbolts*,'" writes Tribune News Service critic Katie Walsh in her review. "These antiheroes are never really allowed to be all that 'anti,' and where’s the fun in that? Pugh does single-handedly hold it together through sheer charm and steely determination, and if this is the new direction of the MCU, we could be in worse hands than hers."

"The Phoenician Scheme": Working with frequent writing collaborator Roman Coppola, filmmaker Wes Anderson offers this latest comedy, in which a wealthy man (Benicio del Toro) entrusts his estate to his daughter, a nun (Mia Threapleton, daughter of Kate Winslet), with outsiders wanting a piece of that action. As usual, Anderson has put together an outstanding ensemble, this one including Michael Cera, Riz Ahmed, Jeffrey Wright, Bryan Cranston, Bill Murray, Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hanks.
"Rust": The troubled production of this low-budget Western was marred by producer and star Alec Baldwin's accidental shooting death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, which also injured director Joel Souza.
