Hard Summer: What fans need to know ahead of the 2-day EDM fest

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Insomniac Events’ Hard Summer music festival is returning to Hollywood Park, adjacent to SoFi Stadium, for a music-filled weekend on Aug. 2-3.

With a diverse mix of electronic music and hip-hop performances, this year’s festival will feature artists like Kaytranada, Gesaffelstein, Busta Rhymes, Four Tet and many more.

But the party doesn’t stop when the main event ends — pre-parties and after-parties across Los Angeles are bringing the city to life all weekend long. From intimate warehouse shows to high-energy sets at iconic venues, here’s everything you need to know to make the most of Hard Summer and the Los Angeles vibe it will fuel.

Lineup and stages

Hard Summer Festival brings together a star-studded lineup across two action-packed days. On Saturday, Aug. 2, headliners include Busta Rhymes, Kaytranada, FEID, and Floating Points Live, alongside many other standout performances. Sunday, Aug. 3, will continue the momentum with major acts like Dom Dolla, Gesaffelstein, Deorro, Four Tet, and I Hate Models, ensuring a weekend of high-energy music that spans house, techno, bass and hip-hop.

The festival will feature five distinct stages: HARD Stage, HARDER Stage, Green Stage, Purple Stage, and Pink Stage. Each stage is designed to offer a unique musical experience, catering to a diverse range of genres and performances.

Pre-parties and after-parties

Hard Summer Festival doesn’t stop when the main event ends. The weekend kicks off with pre-parties on Friday, Aug. 1, at various venues in Los Angeles. Walker & Royce and Torren Foot B2B Airwolf Paradise will be spinning at Aurora Warehouse, while Bou, Skanka, Nix, and Vial take over Exchange LA.

Once the festival wraps up on Saturday, Aug. 2, the after-parties heat up with shows at Aurora Warehouse, Lot 613, Exchange LA, and Academy LA, featuring artists like Blackchild, Crankdat, and Sara Landry.

Shuttles and transportation

For fans looking to make their way to the festivals without the hassle of parking, city shuttles provide round-trip transportation from several locations across Southern California.

 

Shuttles will depart from Ontario, Orange County and the San Fernando Valley, making it easy to get to the festival. Single-day passes are available for $50, while weekend passes are priced at $90. Shuttles depart at specific times and leave promptly at 10:45 p.m. from the festival. Wristbands will be given at shuttle stops — just have your digital ticket and photo ID ready. Bag policy and security

Hard Summer has strict security measures to ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees. Only clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags no larger than 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches are permitted, along with small clutch bags (max size 6 inches by 9 inches) and hydration packs that are empty upon entry. All attendees must undergo a TSA-style security check at the gates, including a bag search and full pat-down. For quick entry, it’s recommended to bring a clear bag. The festival is cashless, so be sure to bring a credit card or use Apple Pay, Android Pay or Samsung Pay for any purchases.

Ticket and entry Information

The festival is open to 18+ attendees, and 21+ for VIP and alcohol access. Entry requires a photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport. No reentry is allowed, so plan ahead for the day. The box office will be open from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on both festival days. The festival runs from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. each day, and doors open at 1 p.m. for entry.
