'Reacher' is (probably) back in Philly for another round of filming

PHILADELPHIA — Production on the fourth season of the hit Prime Video show "Reacher" is back in Philly.
After "Reacher" star Alan Ritchson was spotted outside of Parc back in June, fans were thrilled to see another sign hinting at the show’s return to Rittenhouse.
On a street sign posted on July 30, residents were notified that a “Turkey Meatloaf Productions” team was filming between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday, for an Amazon Prime series.
The sign designated “no parking” areas on the east side of 18th Street between Walnut and Spruce Street, the south side of Walnut between 17th and 19th streets, and both sides of Locust Street between 17th and 18th streets.
Fans suspect the production’s return is to reshoot scenes that originally featured actor Jay Baruchel, the "How to Train Your Dragon" star who was part of the new cast members announced ahead of the new season. He was meant to play a police officer named Jacob Merrick in Season 4 of the series.
In late June, while filming was underway, it was announced that Baruchel was exiting the project due to personal reasons and would be replaced by actor Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette.
It’s unclear whether Ritchson and Rodriguez-Marquette were involved in filming on Monday. But Philly has been a major backdrop for the show’s upcoming season.
For the first round of filming at Parc, Ritchson was surrounded by a camera crew for a brief action scene along 18th and Locust streets.
The scene started with Ritchson’s Reacher dining inside the restaurant with co-star Agnez Mo, who plays Lila Hoth, an Indonesian woman who comes to Philly to search for her American father.
The scene then transitioned outside Parc’s doors, where a police car chase ensued.
Former President Joe Biden even made a surprising and unrelated stop at the French bistro at the time of filming, prompting the "Reacher" cast and crew members to cheer his arrival.
The same week, a Reddit user posted an image of the TV crew in Fairmount, with a visible production vehicle at 27th and Pennsylvania streets.
“Looks like they’re building scaffolding down to the tracks,” the post read.
The fourth season of "Reacher" is based on "Gone Tomorrow," the 13th book in Lee Child’s bestselling Jack Reacher series.
The new season will premiere in late 2026.
