Sound Advice: Get it exactly right with digital laser tape measure
Published in Entertainment News
Fanttik A10 Pro 2-in-1 digital tape and laser measuring tool is a multifunction masterpiece: Kicking things off this week is one of the most useful and satisfying home gadgets I have ever experienced. There was an incredibly positive reader response to the handheld high-speed blower-dusters, which are probably the most popular household devices I have ever written about. Today's product rates right up there with them.
The Fanttik A10 Pro is a tape measure with laser measurement for long distances, a bright, sharp color screen, and a tripod screw mount. It charges via USB-C. When you pull out the 9.8-foot tape it provides an exact measurement on the screen, so you don't have to squint and count little marks on the tape to figure out if you are at 6 3/4 inches or 6 7/8 inches. Every tape measure I own was instantly made obsolete, and the idea of putting on reading glasses to look at tiny marks on a tape is now repulsive. This feature alone is worth the price of admission, but I quickly learned the A10 Pro was just getting started.
The laser provides accurate measurements up to 165 feet. Need to measure an area? Put in area mode, take two laser measurements and it instantly provides the exact area. It also measures volume, which I found useful shortly after getting the device. I have a sloping hill next to my driveway that has a bricked-in area with mulch and decorative stones. The mulch got infected with artillery fungus (look it up, it's horrible) and I decided to remove all the mulch and dirt in the infected area and fill it in completely with river rock deep enough that the fungus will never recur. I used it in volume mode to measure the area above the ground, then took a depth measurement by pointing it at the ground from 2 1/2 feet above. It instantly provided the exact volume of stone needed to fill in the space once it is excavated.
The A10 Pro also functions as a bubble level, and if you point it the display shows the angle. It also stores measurements in the internal memory. I demonstrated the A10 Pro to family and friends and every single person was excited and impressed by all it does, and how easily it does it. My sister asked me for a product link and plans on buying them for every male in her life for Christmas this year, from her son and husband to her in-laws and family friends at her church. I know these men will love the A10 Pro, but I don't think she is thinking big enough because I know many women who enjoy home improvement projects or have jobs (real estate agent, investigations or any time you need to measure distance and area, etc.) where the Fanttik A10 Pro would prove extremely useful, saving time and frustration while providing more accurate data. The Fanttik A10 Pro sells for $89.99 on Amazon with a checkbox coupon reducing the price to $69.29. Using the coupon code LASERTOOL at checkout reduces it another $19.30 to only $49.99, and it works when ordering more than one unit. The holiday shopping season is just starting, but I think I'm going to have a hard time finding a better product and deal than this one!
Q. What turntable would you recommend for an older system with Sony speakers and JVC stereo receiver with phono input? Budget is $500.

A. Get the $299.99 Fluance RT81. It's a fine-looking, excellent sounding turntable and your inexpensive system probably would not benefit from spending more.
