Gadgets: Flashlights
Published in Science & Technology News
Olight's new Oclip 2 Series flashlights are remarkably powerful and feature-rich. They provide hands-free light from a fully adjustable, palm-sized light.
The series has two models, the Oclip 2 Pro ($49.99) and the Oclip 2 Ultra ($69.99), with adjustable lighting in a dual-axis head that tilts up to 115 degrees and swivels a full 360 degrees. Both have a clip that attaches to a belt, backpack or anything up to 14 mm thick. Oclip has tested them for extreme durability, with 10,000 clipping cycles for the clip and 10,000 rotation cycles for the dual-axis mechanism.
For lighting, the Oclip 2 Pro shines in a 3-in-1 system with pure flood, spotlight and red light. The pure flood light shines up to 530 lumens with five brightness levels and a strobe mode. The spotlight shines up to 410 feet (125 meters) and also has five brightness levels and strobe mode. Red light shines up to 40 lumens in high mode and four lumens in low mode, and also has an emergency flashing mode.
The OClip 2 Ultra has a 4-in-1 light system featuring pure flood, spotlight, red light and UV light. Pure flood has a maximum shine output of 580 lumens with five brightness levels and the strobe mode. The spotlight reaches up to 426 feet (130 meters) and offers five brightness levels and strobe mode. Red light mode goes up to 40 lumens in high mode and down to 4 lumens in low mode, and includes a flashing mode.
The Ultra model features the industry-first R/UV emitter, which combines red and UV light into one source. The UV light mode has two-stage lighting for revealing fluorescent effects. Specifications: It has a 365-nanometer wavelength, with 800 nanometers in high mode and 300 nanometers in low mode.
Both models have IP66 weather-resistant protection and are constructed with 6061 aluminum. They feature tail and clip magnets built into the bodies to secure the lights to compatible metal surfaces for hands-free use. You can charge them via USB-C or with the portable mobile charging dock.
The dock has a 1,000 mAh rechargeable battery for on-the-go charging. Portable charging gives you twice the runtime of the light alone and includes a display for the remaining power in the flashlight and the charging dock.
Olight has also updated a few other series. The ArkPro flashlight, which features a flat unibody EDC flashlight with multiple light sources, is now available in a stars and stripes edition with an American flag theme.
The ArkPro ($99.99) has a flat design with four lights and seven configurations. Lighting options include a 1,500-lumen floodlight, an 800-lumen long-range spotlight, a UV light and a green beam. They charge via USB-C or the dock and have a dual-direction clip.

EZQuests’ new UltraSlim wall charger with dual USB-C ports delivers up to 70 watts of power and is more than just another charging accessory. It instantly solves the problem of placing a charging block into an outlet behind furniture or any other narrow space.
What makes the compact flat plug adapter unique and useful is the slim body, which is listed as being two and a half times smaller than the Apple 70-watt charger. The UltraSlim has built-in fold-out AC prongs to fit into any standard AC outlet, and its slim body sits flush against the wall, so you can place it with the dual USB-C ports up or down.
It uses GaN II technology, which runs cooler and delivers a fast, safe charge without overcharging. The UltraSlim wall charger includes complete safety precautions to protect connected devices from over-voltage, over-current, over-temperature and short circuits.
If your device charges via USB-C, including Android and Apple smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, and computers, it is compatible with the white 3.31 by 1.77 by 0.51-inch UltraSlim. EZQuest lists it as up to three times faster than a standard wall charger.
